Jeremiah 19

Thus says Jehovah: Go and buy a pottery jar of a potter, and take of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;
and go··out to the Ravine of the Son of Hinnom, which is by the entrance of the gate of the sun, and proclaim there the words that I shall speak to thee,
and say, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; thus says Jehovah of Armies, God of Israel: Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and everyone who hears, his ears shall tingle.
Because they have forsaken Me, and have made· this place ·unrecognizable, and have burned··incense in it to other gods, whom they and their fathers and the kings of Judah have not known, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
and they have built the high··places of Baal, to burn··up their sons with fire for burnt··offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke it, neither came· it ·up upon My heart;
therefore, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor the Ravine of the Son of Hinnom, but the Ravine of Slaughter.
And I will exhaust the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of them that seek their souls; and their carcasses will I give to be food for the fowl of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth.
And I will set this city for a desolation, and a hissing; everyone who passes by her shall be··desolate and hiss over all her smitings.
And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and a man shall eat the flesh of his companion, in the siege, and in the anguish, with which their enemies, and they who seek their souls, shall cause··anguish for them.
And thou shalt break the jar before the eyes of the men walking with thee,
and shalt say unto them, Thus says Jehovah of Armies: In··this··manner will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that cannot be healed; and they shall bury them in Topheth, until there be no place to bury.
Thus will I do to this place, says Jehovah, and to its inhabitants, and to put this city as Topheth;
and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, as the place of Topheth they are unclean, on··account··of all the houses on whose roofs they have burned··incense to all the army of the heavens, and have poured··out poured··offerings to other gods.
Then came Jeremiah from Topheth, whither Jehovah had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Jehovah’s house, and said to all the people,
Thus says Jehovah of Armies, God of Israel: Behold, I will bring to this city and upon all her cities all the evil that I have spoken against her, for they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear My words.
